If you want to brighten your smile quickly and easily, dental bonding is the
perfect solution for you!
Dental (cosmetic) bonding, also known as composite bonding is an inexpensive and conservative way to fix cosmetic and structural imperfections in the teeth. Dental bonding can be used to repair cracked, chipped, and discolored teeth, to fill gaps between the teeth, and to replace silver amalgam fillings. Cosmetic bonding can also repair misaligned teeth, providing a straighter, more uniform smile.
The dental bonding procedure utilizes a composite tooth-colored resin material which is carefully applied to the tooth, shaped, and smoothed to achieve the desired look. Then the resin is quickly hardened via a high intensity light, which ultimately "bonds" the material to the tooth. After that the bonded tooth is buffed and polished creating a natural appearance just as that of the surrounding teeth.
Teeth bonding takes about 30 to 60 minutes per tooth so it can be completed in one office visit.
Dental bonding can be the best option for small cosmetic changes (such as
improving the appearance of discolored teeth), for temporary correction of
cosmetic defects (such as making teeth look longer, changing the shape of
teeth), and for correction of teeth in areas of very low bite pressure.
